The Transition to Work program assists young people with a disability to develop skills and independence to maximise employment goals. 

People with a disability are eligible for the Transition to Work program if: 
  • They are a school leaver who has completed year 12 and has an intellectual, psychiatric or sensory disability
  • They have been assessed as eligible by ADHC (Ageing, Disability & Home Care) 
  • They live in NSW
  • They are a person who wishes to participate in a program that will support his/her future work or study goals. 
The Transition to Work program assists young people with a disability to develop skills and independence to maximise employment goals and sustain ongoing workplace learning and development, as well as provide support for an independent lifestyle.
 
Challenge offers the Transition to Work program over a number of different dynamics. 
 
This includes group activities and individual goal orientated programs. The programs are tailored to assist individuals achieve their goals with the primary objective being work focused skill development and associated training.
 
Young people who access this service are encouraged and supported through work place sampling and job trials in order to gain industry knowledge to progress within their chosen field. Young people are then intensely supported to achieve sustainable employment. The program also provides support in areas of personal and social development.
