Clients are assisted with personal care, social and medical needs and with day-to-day needs such as banking, attending appointments, meal preparation, washing, cleaning and shopping.
Residents participate in a variety of community activities such as; shopping, outings to the park and library and other local attractions. Home based activities are also encouraged providing residents the opportunity to participate in gardening, cooking, craft and personal care.
All Group Home residents have an individual plan (IP) where individual goals are identified then programs are implemented to ensure those goals are achieved. Parents and/or families are often involved in this process and input from families and other professionals, such as occupational therapists and dieticians, is also encouraged. This enables Challenge to provide a well-balanced and individual service to all residents.
