Community Living is a service offered for people with a disability who live in their own home but still require some assistance. This service is provided to ensure people with a disability, who are more able-bodied, still have every opportunity to live as independently as possible. Support is provided to clients living in both private and public housing environments.

Community Living clients participate in work programs, day programs, aged transition programs and social club outings on a regular basis. Clients also participate in a variety of group outings such as; shopping, outings to the park and library and other local attractions. Home based activities are also encouraged providing further opportunity to participate in gardening, cooking, craft and personal care.

All Community Living clients have an individual plan (IP) where individual goals are identified then programs are implemented to ensure those goals are achieved. Parents and/or families are often involved in this process and input from families and other professionals, such as occupational therapists and dieticians, is also encouraged. This enables Challenge to provide a well-balanced and individual service to all clients.
