CDS Training and Employment has been providing employment services for people with a disability since 1987 and is a recognised Disability Employment Service (DES) provider.
CDS Training and Employment provides specialist assistance to job seekers with disabilities who require ongoing support to find and maintain employment. The program is designed to enable job seekers with a disability to achieve sustainable employment to their maximum capacity.
A job seeker can be referred to DES if they:
Have a permanent (or likely to be permanent) disability;
Have a reduced capacity for communication, learning or mobility and require support for more than six months after placement in employment;
Require specialist assistance to build capacity in order to share the financial, social and personal/other benefits that employment offers.
The assistance that a job seeker can expect is employment preparation including pre-employment training, job search and placements, and post placement support. A DES participant may be referred to the DES program if they:
Have an assessed future work capacity of eight or more hours of work per week;
Require long term support in the workplace and/or are unable to work at full wages.
DES participants do not need to be receiving income support payments to be eligible for the DES program. This service is provided with the assistance of the Commonwealth Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR).
Once eligibility is determined, DES participants will be referred to CDS Training and Employment.
