Challenge Disability Services provides in home personal care services for people with high support needs known as Attendant Care. This program delivers flexible options with individualised support for people with a physical disability or who need personal help to complete activities of daily living. Challenge offers the Attendant Care program in many areas of NSW including the Hunter, New England, North West and Central West regions of NSW. 

The program is suited for people with:
A physical disability whose needs can be substantially met with personal care support and who can be involved in managing their care.
An Acquired Brain Injury, a neurological degenerative condition including a rapidly degenerative condition or has ventilation dependency over 24 hours.
 
The Attendant Care Program is a National Disability Agreement funded program. Individuals may be eligible for the Attendant Care program if:
  • They are between 16 and 65 years old.
  • Live in their own accommodation. (Supported accommodation facilities are not eligible under this program.)
  • Are able to manage living in their community by accessing community supports.
  • Need more than 15 hours per week of personal assistance to complete activities of daily living.
  • Are ineligible or not suitable for other ADHC provided or funded accommodation services in the short to medium term.
